מי שהחליט לשנות את שמה הרשמי של הארץ מיהודה/ישראל לפלשתינה היה הקיסר הרומאי אדריאנוס. הוא עשה זאת כדי לנתק את הקשר בין העם היהודי ליהודה. זה לא הצליח לו.
