החטא ועונשו THE SIN AND IT'S PUNISHMENT
1. Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
1 הנחש, שהיה ערמומי מכל החיות שעשה ה', אמר לאישה: "אף על פי שאלוהים אמר, 'אל תאכלו מכל עצי הגן'..."

2. And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
2 "מפרי עץ הגן מותר לנו לאכול!", אמרה האישה,
"meperi 7e3 hagan mutar lanu le4e2ol!" 4amrah ha4i5ah,
3. But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
3 "אך מפרי העץ שבאמצע הגן אמר לנו אלוהים: 'אל תאכלו ממנו ואל תגעו בו כדי שלא תמותו'."
"4a2 meperi ha7e3 5ebe4em3a7 hagan 4amar lanu 4elohim: '4al ti42lu mimeno w4al tig7u bo kdey 5elo4 tamutu'."
4. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
4 "לא תמותו!", אמר הנחש לאישה.
"lo4 tamutu'!", 4amar hanaca5 l4i5ah.
5. For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
5 "אלוהים יודע שביום שתאכלו מפרי העץ יִפָּקחו עיניכם ואז תהיו כמו אלוהים, תדעו מה טוב ומה רע".

6. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
6 פרי העץ נראה לאישה טעים ויפה. היא גם ראתה שהוא יכול לתת חכמה. האישה לקחה מהפרי, אכלה ממנו, נתנה לבעלה שהיה אִתה, וגם הוא אכל.
Pri ha7e3 nir4eh la4i5ah 9a7im wyafeh. Hi4 gam ra4atah 5ehu4 ya2ol latet ca2amah. Ha4i5ah laqcah mehaperi, 4a2lah mimeno, natnah lba7alah 5ehayah 4itah, wgam hu4 4a2al.
7. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
7 עיני השניים נפקחו והם הבינו שהם עירומים. הם תפרו בגד מעלי תאנה ולבשו אותו למותניהם.
7eyney ha5enayim nifqecu whem hevinu 5ehem 7eyromim. Hem tafru beged me7alay t4enah lav5u 4oto lamoteneyhem.
8. And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
8 כששמעו אדם ואשתו את קול אלוהים שהתהלך בגן בשעות הקרירות של היום, התחבאו מפניו בין עצי הגן.
K5e5am7u 4adamw4i5to 4et qol 4elohim 5ehithale2 bagan ba5a7ot haqerirut 5el hayom, hitcab4u mepanayw beyn 7e3ey hagan.
9. And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
9 "איפה אתה?", קרא אלוהים לאדם.
"4eyfoh 4atah?", qara4 4elohim l4adam.
10. And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
10 "שמעתי את קולך בגן ונבהלתי. ידעתי שאני עירום, לכן התחבאתי", השיב אדם.
"5ama7ti 4et qol2a bagan wnivhalti. Yada7ti 5e4ani 7eyrom, la2en hitcabe4ti", he5iv 4adam.
11. And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
11 "מי אמר לך שאתה עירום?", שאל אלוהים. "האם אכלת מהעץ שציוויתי עליך לא לאכול ממנו?".
Mi 4amar le2a 5e4atah 7eyrom?", 5a4al 4elohim. " ha4im 4a2alta meha7e3 5e3iwiti 7aley2a lo4 le4e2ol mimeno?".
12. And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.
12 "האישה שנתת לי, היא שנתנה לי מפרי העץ, ואכלתי ממנו", השיב אדם.
"Ha4i5 5enatata li, hi4 5enatnah li meperi ha7e3, w4a2alti mimeno", he5iv 4adam.
13. And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
13 "מה עשיתְ?!", פנה אלוהים לאישה.
"הנחש פיתה אותי ואכלתי", אמרה האישה.
"Mah 7asit?!", panah 4elohim la4i5ah.
" hanaca5 pitah 4oti w4a2alti", 4amrah ha4i5ah.
14. And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
14 ה' אלוהים פנה אל הנחש ואמר: "כיוון שכך עשית, מקולל אתה מכל הבהמות ומכל חיות הבר. כל חייך תלך על גחונך ותאכל עפר.
H' 4elohim panah 4el hanaca5 w4amar: " keywan 5eka2 7asita, mqulal 4atah mekol habehemot umekol cayot habar. Kol caye2a tele2 7al gacon2a wti42al 7afar.
15. And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
15 אגרום לשנאה בינך לבין האישה ובין הצאצא שלך לבין הצאצא שלה. הוא יפגע בראשך ואתה תפגע בעֲקֵבוֹ".
4egrom lsin4ah beyn2a lbeyn ha4i5ah ubeyn ha3e4e3ah 5el2a lbeyn ha3e4e3ah 5elah. Hu4 yifga7 bro452a w4atah tifga7 b7aqevo.
16. Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
16 לאישה אמר: "כאבים רבים אביא עלייך בזמן הריונך, ואת בנייך תלדי בכאב. את תרצי מאוד את בעלך, והוא ימשול בך".
La4i5ah 4amar: k4evim rabim 4avi4 7alayi2 bzeman herayone2, w4at benayi2 teldi bke4ev. 4at tir3i me4od ba7ale2, whu4 yim5ol ba2".
17. And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
17 לאדם אמר: "כיוון ששמעת בקול אשתך ואכלת מפרי העץ שציוויתי עליך לא לאכול ממנו, האדמה מקוללת בגללך. כל ימי חייך תאכל ממנה בכאב.
L4adam 4amar: " keywan 5e5ama7ta bqol 4i5te2a w4a2alta meperi ha7e3 5e3iwiti 7aley2a lo4 le4e2ol mimeno, ha4adamah mqulelet biglale2a. Kol yemey caye2a ti42al mimenah bke4ev.
18. Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;
18 היא תצמיח לך קוצים ודרדרים, ואתה תאכל את עשבי הבר.
Hi4 ta3miac le2a qo3im wdardarim, w4atah ti42al 4et 7esevey habar.
19. In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
19 יהיה עליך להתאמץ ולהזיע כל חייך כדי להשיג מזון, עד שתשוב אל האדמה שממנה נלקחת, כי מעפר באת ואל עפר תשוב".
Yihyeh 7ale2a lhit4ame3 wlehazia7 kol caye2a kdey lhaxig mazon, 7ad 5eta5uv 4el ha4adamah 5emimenah nilqacta, ki me7afar ba4ta w4el 7afar ta5uv".
20. And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.
20 אדם קרא לאשתו חַוָוה כי היא הייתה אֵם כל חי.
4adam qara4 l4i5to cawah ki hi4 haytah 4em kol cay.
21. Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
21 ה' אלוהים עשה לאדם ולאשתו כותנות עור והלביש אותם.
H' 4elohim 7asah l4adam wle4i5to kutonot 7or whilbi5 4otam.
22. And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
22 "האדם נהיָה כמו אחד מאתנו ", אמר ה' אלוהים. "עכשיו הוא יודע מה טוב ומה רע. אסור שיִקח גם מפרי עץ החיים, שמא יאכל ממנו ויחיה לעולם".
"Ha4adam nihyah kmo 4ecad me4etnu ", 4amar H' 4elohim. " 7a25ayw hu4 yodea7 mah 9ov umah ra7. 4axur 5eyiqac gam meperi 7e3 hacayim, 5ema4 yi42al mimeno wyihyeh l7olam.
23. Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
23 ה' אלוהים גירש את אדם מגן עדן כדי לעבוד את האדמה שממנה נלקח.
H' 4elohim geyre5 4et 4adam megan 7eden kdey la7avod 4et ha4adamah 5emimenah nilqac.
24. So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.
24 אחרי שגירש את האדם, הציב ה' אלוהים ממזרח לגן עדן את המלאכים ואת החרב הלוהטת והמתהפכת כדי לשמור את הדרך לעץ החיים.
